Aussie miners secure Hyundai coal deal to 2019
South Korea’s Hyundai Steel has signed Australian mining giants Rio Tino and Wesfarmers in a strategy aimed at securing 90% of its coal needs.
The Rio Tinto deal secures at least one million tonnes of coking coal per year from April 2009 to March 2019.
Wesfarmers is signed to provide 500,000 tonnes per year from April 2009 to 2014.
